DISCUSSION
Rohr Park is one of the oldest, largest and frequently used parks in Chula Vista. The park is
approximately 63 acres that consists of four ball fields and has over 70 picnic tables. Special
events, such as Dog shows, Horse shows and Soccer tournaments are also scheduled at this pazk

throughout the year. Rohr Park is also home to the Chula Vista Live Steamers Association that
provides train rides to the public.
Due to the size and frequent use of Rohr Park, having additional trash containers throughout the
park is essential to keeping the park clean. Purchasing additional trash receptacles will also
allow the City to replace some of the older galvanized trash cans with cement trash receptacles,
which are now the standard for new parks. This donation by Goodrich will allow the City to
purchase 15 additional cement trash receptacles, which will enhance the overall park experience
for the patrons at Rohr Park.
DECISION MAKER CONFLICT
Staff has reviewed the decision contemplated by this action and has determined that it is not site
specific and consequently the 500 foot rule found in California Code of Regulations section
18704.2(a)(1) is not applicable to this decision.
CURRENT FISCAL YEAR IMPACT
Approval of this resolution will result in an appropriation of $12,000 to the supplies and services
category of the FY2011/2012 Public Works Budget. The funds received from Goodrich
Aerostntctures will offset this cost, resulting in no net impact to the General Fund.
ONGOING FISCAL IMPACT
There is no ongoing fiscal impact from accepting these funds.
ATTACHMENTS
