RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA GIVING NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER
THE USE OF REVENUE SHARING FUNDS PRIOR TO ENACTING
THE BUDGET OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA FOR FISCAL
YEAR 1977-78
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, it is required that a reasonable effort must be
made to have senior citizens and senior citizen groups participate
in a public hearing on the use of revenue sharing funds prior to
the enactment of the budget in any participating City, and
WHEREAS, at least ten days prior to the budget hearing,
the proposed uses of revenue sharing funds, a summary of the entire
proposed budget, and notice of the time and place of the hearing
must be published in at least one newspaper of general circulation
in the geographic area of the government, which material is on file
in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Chula Vista and
open to inspection by all interested parties, and
WHEREAS, the tentative recommended uses for general
revenue sharing funds for fiscal year 1977-78 are attached hereto
as Exhibit "A", and incorporated herein by reference as if set
forth in full, and are now on file in the office of the City Clerk
and open to inspection by all interested parties, and
WHEREAS, said hearing on the use of revenue sharing funds
will be considered in conjunction with the hearing on the adoption
of the budget of the City of Chula Vista for fiscal year 1977-78.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Chula Vista that notice is hereby given of intention to hold
a public hearing to consider any representations by interested groups
in the expenditure of revenue sharing funds at the time of considera-
tion of the adoption of the tentative budget as the budget of the
City of Chula Vista and that Tuesday, the 21st day of June, 1977,
at the hour of 7:00 p.m, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, California, is hereby fixed as the
time and place when all interested persons may appear and be heard
in this matter.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Chula Vista be, and she is hereby directed to publish this notice
at least once in an official newspaper at least ten (10) days prior
to such hearing.

RECOMMENDED USES FOR
GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUNDS
FTSCAL YEAR 1977-78
The following is a tentative list of Capital Improvement Projects which may be
recommended to the City Council for funding via the "State and Local Fiscal
Assistance Act of 1972, as Amended". While these projects are being considered
for funding from this source, total City revenue and expenditure figures have not
been tabulated for the 1977-78 budget year; therefore, the final recommendations
that will be made to the City Council may or may not include the funding of these
projects.
PROJECT INFORMATION ~ .ALLOCATION
1. Title: Civic Center Renovation $464,000
Location: 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, CA 92010
Description: This project will renovate the vacant Post Office
and Library buildings for use as office space.
They will be joined to form one complex of
approximately 31,000 square feet. The project
will also include minor renovation to City Hall,
site revisions, and the construction of a
decorative plaza and fountain.
2. Title: Orange Ave. R/W Acquisition - Third Avenue 103,100
to Albany Avenue
Location: Orange Avenue - Third Avenue to Albany
Description: Acquire right of way for the construction of
Orange Avenue between Third Avenue and Albany.
3. Title: Storm Drain - Claire and 4~hitney 90,100
Location: Whitney at Claire Avenue, and Claire Avenue,
"H" to "I"
Description: Construct storm drain facilities; remove
existing drainage facilities as required.

Title: Storm Drain - Alvarado Place to Channel
South of "H" Street
Location: From Alvarado Place southerly across "H"
Street to Central Basin Channel
Description: Construct fully improved drainage facilities.
Title: Concrete Lined Channel South of East Naples
Street and West of Monserate
Location: South of East Naples Street and West of
Monserate Avenue
Description: Construction includes approximately 1250
lineal feet of lined concrete channel;
fencing, and installation of 295 L.F. of
18" culvert.
Title: Storm Drain - Marl Court at East Rienstra
Street
Location: Marl Court and East Rienstra Street
Description: Install inlet and approximately 210 lineal
feet of 24" culvert.
Title: Neighborhood Senior Citizen Center
Location: Southern portion of Chula Vista, site
to be determined.
Description: Construction of a 3,700 square foot building
for neighborhood senior citizen use. To
include meeting rooms, kitchen, restroom
facilities, game rooms and other necessary
items to provide for a modern functional
facility.
