The Oldsmobile Sedan may be sold on the open market for approximately $1700, where if traded-in, the maximum allowed is $1275. Trade-in to this vendor for that figure will require that we pick a vehicle from his lot. 2. Negotiation of the purchase will allow selection from the three vendors. It is estimated that the purchase can be made for the one vehicle for $25-$250 above dealer's cost. A copy of the invoice for verifica- tion will be a requirement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista upon the recommendation of the Purchasing Agent and the City Manager does hereby find that bidding is impractical and the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to negotiate the pur- chase of a new automobile for the Mayor.
