ITEM EXPLANATION
At its meeting of May 6, 1976, the Redevelopment Agency forwarded the Town Centre
Redevelopment Project Plan and the Report on the Plan to the City Council for its
review and recommended June 24, 1976, as the date fora joint public hearing for the
purpose of considering the adoption of the Plan.
It is necessary at this time that the Council take formal action to allow adequate
time for publication of notices of the public hearing. Additionally, public hearing
notices must be mailed to approximately 300 property owners whose property is situated
within the bounds of the proposed project.

NOTICE OF A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL/REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE
CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA WILL HOLD A JOINT
PUBLIC NEARING AS PROVIDED BY SECTION 33355 OF THE HEALTH AND
SAFETY CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA for the purpose of consid-
ering the adoption of a Redevelopr-~ent Plan for the area herein
described and entitled Chula Vista Town Centre Redevelopment Project.
The legal description of the area is as follows:

The project area, in general terms, is hounded on the north by
"'E" Street, on the east by Church Avenue and Del Mar Avenue, on
the south by "I" Street, and on the west by Garrett Avenue,
In general, the goal and objectives of the Chula Vista Town
Centre Redevelopment Plan are basically directed toward the
revitalization of the area as the commercial-civic focus of
the City. Owner participation, encouragement of residential
uses, and the enforcement of design standards are several of
the means proposed to accomplish the goal of the Plan.
Copies of the Plan, including a map of the area, are on file
with the City Clerk; in addition, the Plan is available at the
Chula Vista Public Library for review. For further information,

SAID JOINT PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD BY THE CITY COUNCIL/
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ON THURSDAY, JUNE 24, 1976, AT 7:30 P.M.
TN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER, CIVIC CENTER, 2.76 FOURTH AVENUE,
CHULA VISTA, CALIFOP,NIA, at which time any person having
any objections to the proposed Redevelopment Plan, or who
denies the existence of blight in the proposed project area,
or objects to the regularity of the prior proceedings, may
appear before the City Council/Redevelopment Agency and show
cause why the proposed Plan should not be adopted.
