RESOLUTION NO. 8538
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA APPROVING COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO'S PRIORfi'Y PLAN
FOR EXPENDITURE OF THE NEJEDLY - HART STATE, URBAN
AND COASTAL PARK BOND ACT OF 1976 FUNDS
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the Nejedly - Hart State, Urban and Coastal Park
Bond Act of 1976 requires that each County shall consult with all
cities and districts within the County which are authorized to pro-
vide park and recreation services and develop and submit to the
State a priority plan for expenditure of the County's allocation,
and
WHEREAS, the County of San Diego has consulted this City
of Chula Vista in preparation of the priority plan for expenditure
of the County's allocation, including expenditures by eligible cities
and districts, and
~~IIiEREAS, the City of Chula Vista has been actively parti-
cipating in the development of an acceptable priority plan for
expenditure of the County's allocation of State Bond funds, and
WHEREAS, the proposed priority plan provides that the
County's allocation of $6,338,000 shall be divided between cities,
districts and the unincorporated area of the County of San Diego in
the following manner:
Each city and the County shall first receive a base
sum of $75,000 and each eligible district shall receive
a base sum of $50,000 and the remainder shall be divided
between cities and the unincorporated area of the County
on the basis of their percentage as shown on Exhibit "A".
WHEREAS, the City of Chula Vista is in general agreement
with the County of San Diego's proposed priority plan of expendi-
ture of State Bond Act funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Chula Vista that the proposed priority plan for the expendi-
ture of the County of San Diego's allocation of funds under the
Nejedly - Hart State, Urban and Coastal Park Bond Act of 1976, as
specified above be, and the same is hereby approved and recommended
to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Chula Vista is hereby directed to inform the San Diego County Board
of Supervisors of this action by forwarding a copy of this resolu-
tion to the San Diego County Park Development Division, 5555 Over-
land Avenue, San Diego, California 92123.
