HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1976/04/27 Item 12CITY OF CHULA VISTA COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT ITEM N0. 12 FOR MEETING OF: 4 27 76 ITEM TITLE: Resolution#8141: Authorizing Change Order #1 to Carpet Installati Contract for the Chula Vista Library SUBMITTED BY~ Director of Public Works/City Engineer ITEM EXPLANATION Change Order #1 is for the material and labor required to install carpet and carpet accessories in the following. areas. of the Chula Vista Library: East wall of piano room $ 157 Carpet in extension service room 726 Carpet on landings and rubber treads on stairway 795 1500 feet of carpet cap metal 150 Carpet cap around 18 columns $2,318 Piano room carpet is required for sound suppression. Carpet was not included in the original plans for the extension services room and on the stairs in an attempt to conserve funds prior to receiving bids on the library construction. Savings can be realized now by having these areas carpeted while the carpet contractor is working in the library. The 1500 feet of metal cap is required to correct an installation error made by the dry wall contractor. The general contractor will provide the City with a credit for this item. The carpet caps around the columns were left out of the specifications by the architect. Council is requested to transfer $2,500 from Account 61-7001-RS-1 to Account 63-7003-5569 to cover the cost of this change order and provide a contingency fund for other possible carpet changes.
