Outlined below are the capital plans of Mission Cable TV, Inc. for
the Chula Vista Area over the next three years. Please keep in mind
that these plans, particularly those concerning new construction, are
estimates based upon our present visibility. It is our intent to
extend cable television service to all new developments that make
sense economically from our standpoint. Therefore, the growth policy of
your council and the health of the housing industry will be the main
forces deciding how much new construction we actually do in the coming
years.
NE4V CONSTRUCTION:
Our current estimates anticipate about 2,500 new housing units being
constructed in Chula Vista. Based upon our experience we estimate it
will cost about $350,000 to extend cable television service to the
approximately 1500 residents who will want service.
REBUILD:
The table below shows our anticipated rebuild activity during the next
three years:
Dwelling Units
Year Effected
Subscribers Investment
Effected Rec{uired
1978 9,476 5,180 $571,900
1979 7,365 4,025 $348,200
1980 1,463 800 $ 17,700
TOTAL 18,304 10,005 $937,800
The funds shown as allocated for 1978 may be partially shifted into 1979
if our rebuild does not progress as expeditiously as we currently
anticipate. In any event, the rebuild of our plant in Chula Vista will
be substantially complete by late 1979, and the total cost will approximate
$900,000.

The cost of providing converters to the more than 11,500 subscribers
involved in new construction and rebuild will be about $690,000.
In swrnnary, Mission Cable TV, Inc. plans to spend approximately
$1,977,800 on capital investments in Chula Vista in the next three
years. This investment will enable us to increase subscribers by about
ten percent, and provide expanded service with better reliability and
higher quality to our existing subscribers.
Respectfully yours, •
