As Gas Tax Fund 2106 is for construction and maintenance on select streets and Sequoia is not a select street, the State has disallowed the project's eligibility for funding. Therefore, it is staff's recommendation that $12,120.85 be appropriated from the General Fund to cover the disallowed amount. Gas Tax funds that the City receives in one fiscal year but does not use may be carried forward for use in subsequent years. Therefore, the effect of the disallowance of eligibility for GT-209 and the appropriation from the General Fund will be to increase the unappropriated balance of Gas Tax Fund 2106 by $12,120.85. In order to ensure that the net effect will not be a decrease in the General Fund, staff recommends that the appropriations to GT-62, Mainten- ance Salaries FY 76-77, be increased by $12,120.85 from $123,000 to $135,120.85. GT-62, Maintenance and Salaries FY 76-77, is the project used to reimburse the General Fund (with Gas Tax monies) for maintenance provided on select and non-select streets by City forces. This will decrease the unappropriated balance of Gas Tax Fund 2107 by $12,120.85. On June 30, the funds in GT~-62 will be transferred to the General Fund for reimbursement of Maintenance Salaries.
