HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1982-11111 RESOLUTION NO. 11111 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ESTABLISHING COUNCIL POLICY NO. 100-07 FOR WAIVER OF FEES FOR COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the Council, at their meeting of September 28, 1982, requested staff to propose a policy for waiver of fees for non-profit organizations, and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department now pro- poses the attached policy. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby adopt Council Policy No. 100-07 for waiver of fees for community activities as shown in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as if set forth in full. DATED (seal) City Clerk cc-6so II//I EXHIBIT PROPOSED COUNCIL POLICY NUMBER 100-07 SUBJECT: Waiver of Fees for Co~Lnity Activities Purpose: To establish a standard policy as to which conmunity activities conducted by non-profit organizations should be exempted frcm paying pre- scribed fees. Policy: The following fee waiver policy shall govern cc~m~3nity activities conducted by non-profit organizations for fund-raising purposes: 1. Fees shall be w~ived for those bike-a-thons, MarathDns (including full marathons, half-{narathons, 10 kilc~neter runs, w~lkathons or other variations) , and parades for which there is no entry fee or admission charge, other than to defray expenses. Those activities charging an entry or admission fee may receive a waiver of fees, if an affidavit is suhnitted stating that all such proceeds are used for the good of the public. 2o Other activities sponsored by non-profit organizations, but which are operated by concessionaires, such as carnivals, circuses or ~sic festivals, shall not receive a waiver of fees. 3. Requests for waiver of fees shall not be approved unless received in writing at least 15 ~Drking days prior to the date of the event. Itl/I
