The City Council, on October 4, 1977, adopted Resolution Number 8839,
which requested that the Office of the County Tax Collector prepare an
Agreement to purchase certain real property in the City of Chula Vista
(Parcel 623-341-30). This property, also known as Lot 368 in Holiday
Estates Unit No. 6 Subdivision was improved by the developer as a D4ini-
park site and was also required to be dedicated to the City for park pur-
poses. In accordance with Division 1, Part 6, Chapter 8, of the State
Revenue and Taxation Code, the City may purchase Lot 368 for the cost of
publication and advertising and the back taxes. The amount of delinquent
taxes is $297.00. The cost of publishing and advertising the sale is
estimated at $150 to $200. The total estimated cost to the City for the
purchase of Lot 368 is $500.
On October 7, 1977, the City received from the Office of Tax Collector an
Agreement between the County of San Diego and the City of Chula Vista to
purchase tax-deeded property. The terms of the agreement are as follows:

The Director of Public Works and the Director of Parks and Recreation recom-
mend that the City purchase Lot 368. Sufficient funds are available for the
purchase of Lot 368 in the Park Acquisition Development Fund for District #6.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The cost of acquiring Lot 368 of Holiday Estates Unit #6 Subdivision is
$297.00 plus publication and advertisement cost which are not expected to
exceed $200. The total estimated cost, therefore, for acquiring this par-
cel is $500.00.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
(1) City Council approve Agreement.
(2) City Council appropriate from unappropriated balance of the Park Acqui-
sition Development Fund (District #6) the sum of $500.00 and authorize
the expenditure of this amount for the purchase of Lot 368 of Holiday
Estates Unit #6 Subdivision.

REDEMPTION OF TAX ASSESSOR'S PARCEL 623-341-30, LOT 368 IN
HOLIDAY ESTATES UNIT NO. 6 SUBDIVISION
In reference to my telephone conversation with you on Friday,
November 4, 1977, find enclosed City of Chula Vista check no.
10926 in the amount of $151.28. It is my understanding that
the City of Chula Vista may redeem Parcel No. 623-341-30 for
this amount since the City has obtained fee title for this
parcel from Jafro, Inc. The Chula Vista City Council accepted
a quitclaim deed for this parcel from Jafro, Inc. on October 18,
1977 by Resolution No. 8849. The quitclaim deed quitclaiming
Lot 368 and Lot 383 of Holiday Estates Unit No. 6 Subdivision
to the City of Chula Vista was recorded in the office of the
San Diego County Recorder on October 25, 1977 at File/Page No.
77-439341.
On October 18, 1977, the City Council, by Resolution No. 8853,
approved an agreement between the City of Chula Vista and the
County of San Diego to purchase this tax-deeded parcel. Since
the City of Chula Vista is now the fee owner of the parcel and
is able to redeem the parcel for the amount of the enclosed
check, it appears that further processing of this agreement by
your office is no longer necessary.

by and between the Boatd of Supervisors of the County of San Diego, State of California,
end the City of Chula Vista, pursuant to the provisions of Division 1, Part 6, Chapter 8,
of the Revenue and Taxation Code.
W I T N E S S E T H
THAT WHEREAS, the real property situated within the Clty of Chula Via u , County
of San Diego, State of Cellfornfa, hereinafter set forth and described in Exhiblt "A".
attached hereto and made a part hereof, has been deeded to the State of California
for the non-payment of delinquent [axes; and
WHEREAS, such deed to the State for taxes includes taxes levied by the City of
Chula Vista, the taxes of which on the property are collected by the County officers;
and
WFIEREAS, [he hereinafter-described property dcea not lie within the boundaries
of any taxing agency other than [hat, or those specified hereinabove;
NOW, 'THEREFORE, it le mutually agreed as follows:
L. That as provided by Section 3800 of the Revenue and Taxation Code, the coat
of giving notice of [his agreement shall be paid for by the City of Chule Vista;
2. That the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Dfego agrees to sell to
said Cicy of Chula V1aca and said City of Chula V1ata agrees to purchase from said
County the property he relnaftec set out in the aforesaid Exhibit "A", whid~ shall
not leave been redeemed as provided in the Revenue and Taxation Code, upon payment
by said City to the Tax Collector of said County the sum set forth In said Exhiblt
"A" after the description of the property and designated "Purchase Price", within
10 days after this agreement becomes effective.

Subject: Approving Agreement to Purchase Tax-Deeded Property,
Lot 368 in Holiday Estates Unit #6 Subdivision.
The City Council at its meeting of October 18, 1977 will be approv-
ing Agreement between the County o£ San Diego and the City of Chula
Vista to purchase tax-deeded property. This tax-deeded property
is Lot 368 in Holiday Estates Unit #6 Subdivision. This parcel is
currently being used as a Mini-park Site.
Upon adoption of the Resolution by the City Council, please have the
Mayor execute all six copies of the Agreement on behalf of the City.
Please do not, that is, do not date the Agreement, as it will be
dated by the Clerk of the Board of Supervisorso Also, attach to the
executed copies of the Agreement, certified copies of the Resolution
approving the Agreement and certified copies of Resolution #8839.
Please send the executed copies of the Agreement, with the attached
copies of the certified Resolutions to this office for further
processing. This office will prepare a letter of transmittal to the
office of the Tax Collector.

between the City of Chula Vista and the Board of Super-
visors of the County of San Diego. Please have five copies
of the agreement executed by the proper officers and return
them to us with five certified resolutions. The sixth copy
is for your files. The resolution should also contain an
authorization for the execution of an agreement to purchase
the tax deeded land and the purpose of acquiring the prop-
erty. Please do not date the Agreement as it will be dated
by the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors.
We will notify you as soon as the Agreement becomes
effective so that you may request the deed and send your
remittance.
