SUBJECT: Amendment to FY 77-78 Chula Vista Bus Contract on June 2 '"'19,
2 y
~ 95
On June 21, 1977, your Board approved execution of a contract for $~-3~
11• between the Chula Vista Transit Company and the County regarding bus service
in the South County unincorporated area. At the time, both parties recognized
that Route 7 would be added in the Otay area. Your Board authorized suffi-
cient funding to cover all costs which are now estimated to be $35,153.
Chula Vista had allocated $24,795, thereby necessitating a contract amendment
on their part.
Therefore, the only action required is execution of the contract amendment
prepared by Chula Vista. It is my
-.
RECOMMENDATION: That your Board
-.
Authorize execution of the amendment to the 1977-78 contract between Chula
Vista and the County for bus service in the unincorporated area.
Discussion:
In the annual contract between the County and Chula Vista for bus service in
the unincorporated area, your Board provided sufficient funds for the addition
of Route 7 in the Castle Park area. However, Chula Vista did not provide
enough money for addition of the new service.
Therefore, this administrative action is necessary in order to update the
existing contract documents. Further costs will not be incurred.
