NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista endorse the Sweetwater Channel site and request that the Governor of the State and the responsible State officials look favorably on the proposal. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that due to the nature of the Chula Vista site, it is extremely important to consider such matters as design of the facility, traffic control and environ- mental protection. The endorsement of this site for industrial uses is, therefore, contingent upon adherence to the policies for such uses as established in the existing Bayfront Redevelopment Plan. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it be clearly understood that the problems of design, traffic control and the scale of activities related to manufacturing be subject to the approval of this City Council. The major change in this new publication which has been sent to well over 100 foreign firms and financial institutions is the inclusion of the 321,523 square foot former ITT Manufacturing facility with its direct wharf access. Rest assured that any interest which is generated will be immediately turned over to the appropriate land use authorities. Thank you for your continued support of this proposal. If you have any questions, please contact me or Greg Smith of my staff. Sincerely, `~~ Tom Hamilton Supervisor, First District TH:hr Enclosu,~-es cc. City Council City Manager
