RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA AMENDING THE 1982-83 SALARY PlAN BY REDUCING
THE NUMBER OF PAY STEPS FOR TRAFFIC OFFICERS FROM
FIVE TO THREE
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the current syste~ of five pay steps for
Traffic Officers discourages individuals from staying on as
Traffic Officers due to the amount of time it requires to reach
"E" step, and
WHEREAS, the three-step pay plan would constitute a more
realistic pay schedule in that it would allow Traffic Officers to
progress through the steps and reach their maximum pay potential
in a time that more clearly reflects full competence in the job,
and
WHEREAS, the proposed three-step pay plan would contain
the same top and bottom steps as contained in the five-step plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista does hereby amending the 1982-83 salary
plan by reducing the number of pay steps for Traffic Officers from
five to three.
