To: Chula Vista Mayor and City Council
From: Concerned Norman Park Users:
;"', ,,<-
We are concerned about the limited time that the City
of Chula Vista is keeping NPC opened. We are thankful
that the Senior Center has remained open M-F from 8-
2. However, this is basically being open many hours
less than in the past.
Previously, the Center was also open several evenings
for use by groups and Clubs. At night the Center was
operated with one part-time staff. We are proposing
that the Center be kept open Tues., Wed., and
Thurs. nights from 5 until 9. This will broaden
access for those seniors that can not attend in the
morning hours.
If we look at the actual costs for the one part-time
staff and electricity costs, this cost would be
approximately $75.00 per night. The city should be
able to cover the costs of this night time operation for
the next fiscal year.
"
Additional hours will be paid for by Senior Unity and
the Norman Park Educational Foundation. Additional
funds are being pursued. Grants have been written
and donations are being sought and fundraisers have
been scheduled.
