RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHl1LA VISTA APPROVING AND ADOPTING UP~IFORM
BUILDING VALUATIONS
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Resolution No. 5656
endorsing the principle of uniform standards for building regulations
throughout San Diego County, and
WHEREAS, the existing building valuations approved July 1,
1975 and set forth in City Council Resolution No. 7749 are not uniform
with the valuations proposed by the San Diego Area Chapter of the
International Conference of Building Officials.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Chula Vista that Resolution No. 7749 be, and the same is
hereby rescinded.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Chula Vista does hereby approve and adopt the Schedule of Average
Building Valuations, marked Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference as if set forth in full.

PILE FOUNDATIONS - Increase the valuation by $6.40 per Zineal foot of pile for
cast-in-place concrete piles and $16.00 per Zineal foot of pile for steel and
pre-cast concrete piles.
Apply other dwelling cost modifier as follows: fireplace $800.00; forced-air
heat $800.00; wood shingles or wood shakes, $.75 per square foot; the roof
$.90 per square foot; extra plumbing $320.00 per fixture for more than six
bathroom fixtures.
VALUATION FOR ADDITIONS TO EXISTING RESIDENCES (TYPE V)
Instructions:
1. Determine floor area for valuation as a product of exterior dimensions.
2. Determine appropriate basic cost/sq, ft. from table below.
3. Compute basic valuation as product of cost/sq. ft. and floor area.
4. Add applicable costs for proposed work in excess of basic structure
valuation (see Zist below table).

per sq. ft. between existing and new occupancy.

Install windows or sliding glass doors - $5.10 per sq. ft. of opening.
Close exterior wall openings - $4.50 per sq. ft. of opening.
