RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA APPROVING THAT CERTAIN MEMORANDUM OF UNDER-
STANDING CONCERNING WAGES AND OTHER TERMS AND COrdDITIONS
OF EMPLOYMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AND THE
CHULA VISTA EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION FOR FISCAL YEAR
1977-78
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the Management Negotiation Team representing the
City Manager of the City of Chula Vista, acting for and on behalf of
the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, have heretofore met and
conferred with the Chula Vista Employees' Association, an organiza-
tion representing certain members of classified employees in the
City of Chula Vista, in accordance with the provisions of Section
3500 et seq. of the Government Code of the State of California, and
WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding jointly prepared
by said parties as a result of meeting and conferring in good faith
has been presented to the City Council and is contained in Exhibit "A",
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as if set forth
in full.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Chula Vista does hereby approve and accept said Memorandum of
Understanding as contained in Exhibit "A" for fiscal year 1977-78.

WHEREAS, the representatives of the City Manager of the City of Chula Vista, acting
for and on behalf of the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, have heretofore
met and conferred with the Chula Vista Employees' Association affiliated with the
San Diego Public Employees Association, an organization representing certain members
of classified employees in .the City of Chula Vista, in accordance with the provi-
sions of Section 3500 et seq. of the Government Code of the State of California.
tdHEREAS, as a result of meeting and conferring in good faith with said group, agre~-
ment has been reached on the following terms and conditions of employment as applied
to those classified employees who are members of and represented by the Chula Vista
Employees' Association, and said representatives of the City Manager and of the
Chula Vista Employees' Association do now jointly prepare a written Menem randum of
Understanding concerning said agreed terms and conditions of employment for presenta-
tion to the City Council of the City of Chula Vista for determination, to-wit:

agree to certain salary adjustments as contained in Attachment "A" attached
hereto and lncorporated~herain by reference as it sets forth in full.
2, The City of Chula Vista and the Chula Vista Employees' Association hereby.
. agree to the following proposals as contained in Attachment "B" attached
hereto and incorporated herein by reference as it sets forth in full.
3.' It is further understood and agreed that any other benefits and working
conditions and the terms and conditions as specified in this agreement
or other publisf~ed City documents thereof presently in effect shall remain
unchanged unless and until said terms and conditions shall be modified as
a result of meeting and conferring in good faith bett•reen the City of Cf;ula
Vista and the Chula Vista Employees' Association pursuant to the provi~ion~
of Section 3500 of the Government Code of the State of California.
a, If any provision of the agreement, or the application of such provision,
should be rendered or declared invalid by any court action or by reason
of any existing or subsequently enacted legislation, the remaining parts

ATTACHMENT "B"
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1977_
1. The City of Chula Vista will pay the premiums for an improved Group
Insurance Program (Plan A) for members in this unit, including any
additional increases in premiums during the period covered by the
1977-78 Memorandum of Understanding.
2. The current Bilingual Pay Differential will. be modified to $25/month.
3. The Current Call-Back provisions will be modified from a three-hour
overtime minimum to a $20 bonus in addition to actual overtime worked.
Call-Back shall be de tined as any time a person is called back to work
after he/she has left his/her work site and is required to return to
work before the scheduled start of the next shift.
4. The current vacation accrual and accumulation standards shall remain
in effect, with any individual transition difficulties to be handled
in a mutually satisfactory manner.
5. The current Night Shift Differential of 5~.wi11 be modified to $40/month.
