HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1989-14004 RESOLUTION NO. 14004 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF A 1705 SQUARE FOOT REMNANT PARCEL OF LAND LOCATED ON THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF EAST RIENSTRA STREET AND MARL COURT TO MR. AND MRS. JAMES BECKSTROM AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY GRANT DEED The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Beckstrom have expressed an interest in acquiring a 1705 square foot remnant of surplus land owned by the City adjacent to their lot at 291 East Rienstra, and WHEREAS, as reflected in the appraisal, it has been determined that the value of the property is $1.00 per square foot for a total of $1705, and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Beckstrom are willing to pay the appraised value and since the parcel is not needed for any municipal purpose and has no value to anyone except the adjacent property, staff believes the parcel should be sold to the Beckstroms. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula - Vista does hereby authorize the sale of a 1705 square foot remnant parcel of land located on the northeast corner of East Rienstra Street and Marl Court to Mr. and Mrs. James Beckstrom for the appraised value of $1705. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute the necessary grant deed for and on behalf of the City of Chula Vista. Fritsch, Deputy City Attorney ResoZution No. 14004 Poge 2 LEGAL DESCRIPTION That portion of the south 330 feet of the north 1,320 feet of the east one-half of the west one-half of Quarter Section 92 of Rancho de la Nacion, in the County of San Diego, State of California, according to Map thereof No. 166, filed in the office of the County Recorder, May 11, 1869, lying outside the boundaries of Princess Manor, Unit No. 7, filed in the office of the County Recorder of said San Diego County as Map No. 5585, and further described as follows: Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 6 of said Map 5585, thence south 05° 05' 37" west (shown south 05° 06' 51" west on said Map No. 5585) along the westerly line of said Lot 6 a distance of 68.18 feet; thence north 84° 54' 23" west 6.19 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave northeasterly, having a radius of 18.88 feet; thence northwesterly along the arc of said curve, through a central angle of 79© 27' 53" a distance of 26.19 feet; thence tangent to said curve north 5° 26' 30" west 39.90 feet; thence north 72° 11' 40" east a distance of 34.78 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
