HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1977-8885! .4 RESOLUTION NO. 8885 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN DIAGRAM TO CHANGE FOUR AREAS IN THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA FROM HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista has heretofore on November 15, 1977 held a public hearing to consider an amendment to the General Plan for those areas identified as "neighborhoods-in-transition" in the central Chula Vista community from High Density Residential to Medium Density Residential, and WHEREAS, having heard testimony at said public hearing and received the recommendation of the Planning Commission, the City Council now desires to make said revision to the General Plan, and WHEREAS, three of said areas are categorically exempt and are more particularly described as follows: a. Approximately 4.0 acres located at the southwest quadrant of Fifth Avenue and "C" Street. b. Approximately 18.0 acres located south of "D" Street, between Fourth and Fifth Avenues. c. Approximately 16.0 acres locates south of "F" Street, between Fifth Avenue and Broadway. and WHEREAS, a notice of the proposed negative declaration on the proposed General Plan amendment was given in accordance with the Environmental Review Policy for that parcel more particularly described as follows: Approximately 1.5 acres located at the westerly terminus of Sea Vale Street and WHEREAS, the Environmental Review Committe found that said General Plan amendment would have no possible significant impact on the environment and forwarded the attached Negative Declaration, IS-76-46, to the City Council of the City of Chula Vista for their consideration, and WHEREAS, said Negative Declaration has been available to agencies having jurisdiction by law, all responsible agencies, and to the public for an adequate period of time for their review and comment , and WHEREAS, the information contained in said negative declar- ation has been considered by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista prior to its action on the discretionary item before the City Council. - 1 - NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista finds as follows: 1. That those properties identified hereinabove as being categorically exempt require no environmental review. 2. That the City Council of the City of Chula Vista adopts as its record of this finding of no possible significant impact the Council agenda statement on this agenda item and all of the attachments thereto. 3. That the City Council of the City of Chula Vista finds in accordance with the recommendation of the Environmental Review Committee and the attached Negative Declaration that said General Plan amendment will not have any possible significant impact on the environment, and the attached Negative Declaration, incorporated herein by reference as if set forth fully, has been prepared in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970, as amended. 4. That the Environmental Review Coordinator is hereby authorized and directed to file said Negative Declaration with the County Clerk of the County of San Diego subsequent to the prepara- tion of a notice of determination on this project. 5. That the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby amend the General Plan of the City of Chula Vista in accord- ance with Resolution No. GPA-78-1 as adopted and forwarded by the Planning Commission.
