HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2011-022RESOLUTION NO. 2011-022 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING A GRANT OF $41,000 FOR THE CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY AWARD THROUGH THE CALIFORNIA LIBRARY LITERACY SERVICES FUND FOR LITERACY PROGRAMMING AT CHULA VISTA LIBRARY WHEREAS, the Chula Vista Public Library received aone-time grant awazd from the California State Library's California Library Literacy Services Fund in the amount of $41,000 to support literacy services in a library setting; and WHEREAS, the purpose of the grant is to support adult literacy services in a library setting; and WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to maintain adult literacy services by supporting staff time and literacy materials; and WHEREAS, an appropriation is not necessary at this time, as the Library Department will use existing budget appropriations to fund the services through the end of the fiscal year. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does accept a grant from the California Library Literacy Services Fund in the amount of $41,000 for Chula Vista Public Library's literacy program.
