HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1978-9084RESOLUTION NO. 9084 RESOLUTIONI OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITv OF CHULA VISTA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ACQUIRE AND IMPROVE ADDITIONAL PARKING LOTS WITHIN THE CHULA VISTA PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1 AND FIXING THE TLT~E Ar1D PLACE FOR HEARING AND GIVITJG NOTICE THEREOF The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the City of Chula Vista has heretofore, pur- suant to Ordinance No. 847, adopted on July 9, 1963, established a parking district known as "Parking District No. 1 of the City of Chula Vista", and WHEREAS, it is now desired to add certain properties as parking places within said parking district in accordance with Sections 35270, 35271 and 35272 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, and 64HEREAS, it is determined that all of the terms and conditions of the establishment of said parking district shall be strictly adhered to in the accomplishment of the acquisition and improvement of said parking places, and WHEREAS, a general description of the property to be acquired and the costs thereof are as follows: Watrous Property Lot 64 in Dyer Tract, in the City of Chula vista, in the County of San Diego, State of California, according to P'Iap thereof r1o. 1871, filed in the Office of the County Recorder of San Diego County, December 23, 1925. - Appraised Value = $44,000 Rodriguez Property Lot 63 of the Dyer T Vista, in the County fornia, according to in the office of the County, December 23, ract, in the City of Chula of San Diego, State of Cali- Map thereof T1o. 1871, filed County Recorder of San Diego 1925. - Appraised Value = $42,875 and WHEREAS, a general description of the improvements to be made and constructed in said parking places herein described is as follows: 1. Clearing and grading all parcels, including concrete removal and the removal of existing buildings and other obstructions as necessary. 2. Preparing and compacting subgrade on all parcels. 3. Paving all parcels with asphaltic material, together with suitable base. -1- 4. Construction of portland cement driveways to provide ingress to and egress from said parking places. 5. Removal, construction and reconstruction of_ side- walks, curbs and gutters on all parcels as required. 6. Construction of curb islands and wheel barriers on all parcels. 7. Painting stall lines and directional lines and arrows and installation of appropriate traffic and information signs on all parcels. 8. Installation of lighting systems on a.ll parcels. 9. Acquisition and installation of parking meters on all parcels. 10. Any necessary work and materials appurtenant to any of the foregoing or necessary to comply with City ordinances. and WHEREAS, the cost of said properties and improvement thereof has been determined to be the amount of $128,000, plus interest. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that notice is hereby given that on the 23rd day of May, 1978, at the hour of 7:00 p.m, in the Council Chambers of this City Council in the City Hall of the City of Chula Vista, 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, California, are the time and place herein fixed for the hearing on the proposed acquisition of additional properties for parking places in Parking District No. 1. Any person interested and objecting to the additional acquisition and improvement of said parking places including the issuance of bonds or loan arrangements may file a protest with the City Clerk of the City of Chula Vista. Any such protest must be in writing, must be filed not later than the hour and date fixed for hearing and may be filed with the City Clerk of the City of Chula Vista. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Chula Vista be, a.nd she is hereby authorized and directed to cause this resolution to be published once in the Chula Vista Star News, a newspaper of general circulation printed and pub- lished in said City, the publication to be at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of the hearing fixed herein. Not less than twenty (20) days prior to the date of said hearing, the City Clerk shall mail a copy of this resolution, postage prepaid, to each person to whom real property iri said district is assessed as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of San Diego, at his address as shown upon said roll, and to each person, whether owner in fee or having a lien upon, or legal or equitable interest in, any real property within said district, whose name and address and a designation of the real property in which he is interested is on file in the office of_ the Clerk, and shall also make such mailings as may be required by Chapter 3.5 of Title 6 of the Government Code of the State of California.
