ITEM EXPLANATION (4/5TH'S VOTE REQUIRED YES NO X)
In July of 1971, the Sweetwater Community College District of
San Diego County executed a Deed of Dedication of property for
street and highway purposes to the City of Chula Vista. This
deed allowed the construction of East "H" Street between E1 Rancho
del Rey Unit #1 and Otay Lakes Road. (Refer to the attached
sketch for the original boundary deeded to the City of Chula
Vista).
Subsequent to that action, the City of Chula Vista has taken
three actions in regard to this original dedication. These
actions are as follows:
1. We have dedicated and named East "H" Street per Council
Resolution 7600 (refer to Parcel A on attached sketch)

Resolution 7601 (refer to Parcel B, attached sketch)
3. We have quitclaimed to the Sweetwater Community College
Parcel C (shown on the attached sketch).
Recently, the Sweetwater Community College has contacted the
staff about the possible relinquishment of property pre-

staff found that additional right of way was necessary for future
street improvements near the intersection of Otay Lakes Road and
East "H" Street which lies within property presently owned by the
Sweetwater Community College. Staff has also determined that a
portion of the property which was originally deeded to the City
for street purposes and is no longer needed may be relinquished
back to the Sweetwater Community College District. The attached
sketch illustrates the right of way which is required by the City
of Chula Vista and that which will be quit-claimed back to the
College District.
