HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1989-13914 RESOLUTION NO. 13914 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA APPROVING QUALITY OF WORK LIFE AGREEMENT WITH VARIOUS EMPLOYEE GROUPS AND DESIGNATING FEBRUARY 2, 1989 AS QWL DAY IN CHULA VISTA, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the City and the Chula Vista Employees' Association agreed to a labor-management cooperation endeavor in the 1987-90 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)~ and WHEREAS, similar language to jointly develop and implement a labor-management cooperation program was approved in the current MOU between the City and the Western Council of Engineers, and WHEREAS, subsequently the International Association of Fire Fighters and the Police Officers' Association agreed to participate in developing the labor-management cooperation program, and WHEREAS, 36 representatives from classifications represented by CVEA, POA, IAFF, WCE, Mid-Management, and Executive Management have been meeting regularly as the Quality of Work Life (QWL) Provisional Steering Committee to formulate the labor-management cooperation program since March 25, 1988, and WHEREAS, these representatives agreed upon the attached QWL Agreement on November 7, 1988. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby approve the Quality of Work Life Agreement with various employee groups, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, the same as though fully set forth herein be, and the same is hereby approved.-Fq' BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City Of Chula Vista be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreement as well as to approve changes to the Agreement for and on behalf of the City of Chula Vista. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that February 2, 1989 is hereby designated as QWL Day in Chula Vista.
