It is the intent of the City and Bus Company to renegotiate a contract for bus service operation from July 1, 1980 to June 30, 1981, as soon as possible after FY1979 service has been provided. The agreement for the twenty-four month period beginning July 1, 1978 calls for Aztec to provide 470,192 revenue service miles during FY 79. The total cost of service will be $634,618 for 470,192 service miles. FY 79 and FY 80 cost of operation of Chula Vista Transit is based on actual (labor) and other projected operating costs plus a 10 percent mark-up. Refer to Exhibit B which lists Aztec actual and projected costs during the contract period. Three of these costs (insurances, vehicle and radio lease expense, and vehicle license. taxes) will be frozen during FY 79 and FY 80 and thus would not be subject to increases (or decreases) in the annual average San Diego CPI, as would other non-labor and fuel costs, listed in Exhibit B. Section 3 - Supplemental Units, is changed to include an additional spare bus for CVT operations. There will now be a total of four (4) spare buses and a total of eleven (.11) buses in CVT service. Section 14 - Collection of Farebox, Advertising and Charter Revenues, includes a new provision that the City shall have total control ovex the sale of advertising on any of the operating units. Section 22 - Termination of Agreement, includes the provision that either party may cancel the agreement for reasonable cause, and written notice shall provide for terminating agreement sixty (60) days from the date of delivery. The total cost of service for the final nine months of FY79 will be $477,321 and the total cost of service for the entire FY79 period will be $634,618 for a total of 470,192 service miles. FY79 and 80 costs of operation of Chula Vista Transit is based on actual (labor) and other projected operating costs plus a 10 percent profit margin.
