On August 19, 1975, the City Council, by Resolution 7868, established
an Underground Utility District on Main Street from Beyer Way to
2,100 feet east of Hilltop Drive. This undergrounding district is a
joint district between the City of Chula Vista and the County of San
Diego. The County of San Diego is financing the entire cost of
undergrounding from funds allocated to the County of San Diego by
San Diego Gas and Electric Company.
In accordance with Section 15.32.150 of the Chula Vista Municipal Code,
City Resolution No. 7868 states that the City Council shall, by sub-
sequent resolution, fix the date on which affected property owners
must be ready to receive underground service and the date the poles,
overhead wires, and associated overhead structures shall be removed.
On August 8, 1978, the County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution
setting September 1, 1978, as the date for customers to be ready to
receive underground service within the district and December 1, 1978,
as the date for removal of poles and overhead facilities.
The County of San Diego has requested that the City of Chula Vista
also adopt a resolution of the City Council setting these dates.

Subject: Main Street Undergrounding Utility District
The City Council, at its meeting of August 22, 1978, will adopt
a Resolution setting:
1) September 1, 1978 as the date all property
owners within the boundaries of subject
district be ready to receive underground
service; and
2) December 1, 1978 as the date for poles,
overhead wires and associated overhead
structures to be removed within the bound-
aries of subject district.
Chapter 15.32.150 of the Municipal Code requires that the City
Clerk:
1) Within 15 days of adoption of said Resolution,
notify all affected utilities and affected
persons of the date they must be ready to
receive underground service and the date
poles and associated structures are to be
removed from within the district.
V1e, therefore, request that you send a copy of the Resolution to
the property owners listed on the attached list.
