HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1989-15180-A RESOLUTION NO. 15180-A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING BIDS, AWARDING CONTRACT FOR GROUNDS MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT AND APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL FUNDS REQUIRED FOR THE PURCHASE The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the following two bids were received and opened at 2:00 p.m. on the 10th day of July, 1989, in the office of the Purchasing Agent of the City of Chula Vista for the following grounds maintenance equipment: ITt~ QTY DESCRIPTION 1 2 Tractor, turf, with front mounted rotary mowers 2 1 Trailer, utility, tilt deck WHEREAS, the following bids were received for Item 1: ITt~4 1 - Tractor, turf UNIT X 2 SALES TRADE-IN BIDDER PRICE TRACTORS TAX ALLf~qANCE AMOUNT C.R. Jaeschke Inc. $10,995 $21,990 $1,539.30 ($150) $23,379.30 San Diego San Diego TUrf $16,440 $32,880 $2,301.60 ($200) $34,981.60 WHEREAS, the low bidder, C.R. Jaeschke Inc. submitted a bid on the Steiner Model 425 Tractor/Mower which does not meet specifications as bid specifications requested an 88" cutting width with five bladed mowing unit and the Steiner has a cutting width of 72" and three bladed mowing unit; specifications required wing decks to allow cutting with either right or left wing and center or center only and the Steiner has no wing decks, and WHEREAS, the unit bid by San Diego Turf meets the requirements of the specifications and is acceptable to the using department, and WHEREAS, the following bids were received on Item 2: ITEM 2 - Trailer, utility UNIT SALES BIDDER PRICE TAX AMOUNT San Diego TUrf $2,335 $163.45 $2,498.45 San Diego C.R. Jaeschke Inc. $2,336 $163.52 $2,499.52 -1- WHEREAS, the low bid of San Diego Turf meets specifications and is acceptable, and WHEREAS, it has been recommended that said contract be awarded to San Diego Turf for Item 1 and 2 who has assured the City that he is a licensed vendor in the State of California and can produce an acceptable performance bond, and WHEREAS, the FY 89-90 Equipment Replacement FUnd provides ~34,100 for the purchase; purchase cost for the equipment including tax is ~37,480.05 and it is, therefore, necessary to appropriate ~3,385 for the equipment. NOW, THInEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby accept said two bids, and does hereby award the contract for said grounds maintenance equipment to San Diego Turf to be completed in accordance with the specifications as approved by the Director of Parks and Recreation of the City of Chula Vista. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Purchasing Agent of the City of Chula Vista be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract for and on behalf of the City of Chula Vista. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of ~3,385 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated reserve of the Equipment Replacement Fund.
