RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA AUTHORIZING COMPENSATION FOR
MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF THE SAN DIEGO SERVICE
AUTHORITY FOR FREEWAY EMERGENCIES (SAFE)
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2551 of the Streets and
Highways Code, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San
Diego and a majority of the cities within San Diego County having
a majority of the population adopted resolutions providing for
the establishment of the San Diego Service Authority for Freeway
Emergencies, and
WHEREAS, the San Diego Service Authority for Freeway
Emergencies is authorized by Sections 2550 and following to
implement, maintain, and operate a motorist aid system on
portions of the California freeway and expressway system located
in San Diego County, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2555 of the Streets and
Highways Code, the San Diego Service Authority for Freeway
Emergencies has imposed a one dollar per year fee on vehicles
registered in San Diego County to finance the implementation,
maintenance, and operation of a freeway call box system in San
Diego County, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2551.5 of the Streets and
Highways Code, the board of supervisors and the city COUDCilS Of
the cities in the county may authorize the members of the service
authority to receive for each attendance at meetings of the
service authority, and for each day any member is engaged in
authorized service authority business other than attendance at
meetings of the service authority, the maximum sum of one hundred
dollars ($100), but not to exceed five hundred dollars (~500) in
any calendar month, and to be allowed their actual and necessary
expenses incurred in the discharge of their duties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista that members of the San Diegio Service
Authority for Freeway Emergencies Board are authorized to receive
for each attendance at meetings of the Service Authority, and for
each day any member is engaged in authorized Service Authority
business other than attendance at meetings of the Service

to exceed five hundred dollars (~500) in any calendar month, and
be allowed their actual and necessary expenses incurred in the
discharge of their duties.
