Resolution J~o2 Approving Extension of Time for
ITEM TITLE Construction o Storm Drain System in Madrona
Street and Del Mar Avenue

G. R. Henderson Contractors, Inc, is constructing the storm
drain system in Madrona Street and Del Mar Avenue and alley
improvements south of Madrona Street west of Del Mar Avenue.
The contract dated March 22, 1977, was awarded by Resolution
9514 on February 27, 1979.
The contract completion date is August 21, 1979. The
Engineering Department is requesting an extension of nine
working days changing the contract completion date to
September 3, 1979.
The contractor, G. R. Henderson, is suffering delay due to
the delivery of a special grate and frame specified by the
City in the contract documents. The material was originally
ordered in April of 1979. Modifications were required and
shop drawings approved by Engineering on May 10, 1979.
Delivery schedule was set for August 6, 1979. The
contractor has now been informed that the frame and grate
will not be available to install until August 15, 1979.
Because of the nature of the work, the contractor cannot
complete the project within the specified contract time.
The Engineering Department recommends that the extension of
time to September 3, 1979, be approved.
