The City Council, by Resolution No. 8060, on February 17,
1975, approved a cooperative agreement between the County of
San Diego and the City of Chula Vista for .,perm-ic~.p~ating in
the cost of widening Main Street from Fresno Avenue easterly
to the I-805 freeway. The construction of this project has
been recently completed .
In order to construct the project, it was necessary to
obtain certain rights-of-way and slope and drainage
easements. Section 3 of the agreement provided a procedure
by which such acquisitions were to be accomplished.
Essentially, it became the County's responsibility to
purchase or condemn for the necessary rights-of-way. The
City was obligated to reimburse the County for acquisition
costs related thereto for parcels that were purchased or
condemned as follows: a) right-of-way presently within the
jurisdiction of the City, and b) any right-of-way which had
been annexed to the City prior to acquisition by the County.

The City Council authorized on March 22, 1977, by Resolution
No. 8551, the expenditure of $113,305.25 for the right-of-
way acquired by the County for the City under the terms of
the aforementioned agreement. The County Board of
Supervisors, on April 17, 1979, and on July 24, 1979,
approved the execution of quitclaim deeds (attached) vesting
to the City of Chula Vista several real property parcels
acquired by the County as part of the Main Street Widening
Project for right-of-way and for slope and drainage
easement. These parcels are:

Since construction of the widening project has now been
completed, I recommend that the City Council accept the
quitclaim deeds and name and dedicate for street purposes
the following parcels:
