HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1979/08/14 Item 08CITY OF CHULA VISTA ' ~ ~ Item No. 8 COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMEiVT For meeting of 8/14/79 ITEM TITLE SUBMITTED BY ITEM EXPLANATION (4/5TH'S VOTE REQUIRED YES NO x ) The City Council, by Resolution No. 8060, on February 17, 1975, approved a cooperative agreement between the County of San Diego and the City of Chula Vista for .,perm-ic~.p~ating in the cost of widening Main Street from Fresno Avenue easterly to the I-805 freeway. The construction of this project has been recently completed . In order to construct the project, it was necessary to obtain certain rights-of-way and slope and drainage easements. Section 3 of the agreement provided a procedure by which such acquisitions were to be accomplished. Essentially, it became the County's responsibility to purchase or condemn for the necessary rights-of-way. The County Board of Supervisors, on April 17, 1979, and on July 24, 1979, approved the execution of quitclaim deeds (attached) vesting to the City of Chula Vista several real property parcels acquired by the County as part of the Main Street Widening Project for right-of-way and for slope and drainage easement.
