On January 23, ].979, Council approved institution of this former trial service on a permanent basis as well as placing an additional set of brackets on a second bus. Thus two buses are now equipped to carry the one bike rack that CVT riders traveling to and from the College may use. As of_ July 1, 1979, there have been an average of 2? CVT riders/month using this service. Two percent of all the San Diego region's LTF funds are reserved by CPO for bicycle planning, capital and maintenance purposes. CPO staff has informed me that $3,000 of LTF bike funds are still unallocated and availzble for area transit operators and cities to spend for such purposes. It is estimated that $1,000 will be spent by CVT on maintaining the bicycle rack and related equipment in FY 1979 and FY 1980. I therefore recommend that the Council pass a resolution requesting $1,000 of "2$ LTF bicycle monies" from CPO and they would then pass those funds through to the City. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Adopt resolution requesting $1,000 of "2% LTF Bicycle Monies" from CPO. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION COUNCIL ACTION t~~ r F o rm A-113 (Rev. 5/77)
