HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1979/07/17 Item 05~'-- CITY OF CHULA VISTA COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMEiVT Item No. 5 For meeting of 7/17/79 ITEM TITLE Resolution 7~/ 9Approving Extension of With Spring Valley Sanitation District SUBMITTED BY City Engineer ITEM EXPLANATION the Agreement (4/5TH'S VOTE REQUIRED YES N0~) In March 1964 the City executed the basic agreement with the Spring Valley Sanitation District to permit use of the District's outfall trunk sewer by the City. Because of legal restrictions imposed on the District that agreement was necessarily limited to a life of 15 years. District staff has prepared an amendment to the agreement which extends the life of the agreement another 15 years to March 9, 1994. All other terms of the agreement remain unchanged. The District's Board of Directors approved the amendment on June 19, 1979. Approval is also required by Chula Vista and the City of San Diego. Without use of the subject outfall trunk sewer, the City would be required to construct its own parallel facility at major expense. Acreage charge is collected from property owner. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Adopt resolution approving Third Amendment to the basic agreement and authorizing the Mayor to execute in behalf of the City.
