ITEM TITLE Gas s: Electric Company for the Purpose of Placing
Facilities upon Civic Center Property

ITEM EXPLANATION (4/5TH'S VOTE REQUIRED YES NO x )
On May 17, 1979, the Engineering Department received a
letter from San Diego Gas & Electric Company requesting that
the City of Chula Vista grant it an easement for placing a
transformer in conjunction with an undergrounding project on
Fourth Avenue between "E" and "F" Streets.
The transformer is proposed to be placed with its centerline
approximately 225 feet. south of the south line of Davidson
Street and will serve the Police Facility. The easement
proposed for this location is fi feet square and lies
adjacent to the westerly right-of-way line of Fourth Avenue.
The City Engineer has no objection to the granting of this
easement as proposed.
The conditions set forth by San Diego Gas and Electric
Company on the easement document are:
1. The City of Chula Vista shall not erect, place or
construct, nor permit to be erected, placed or
constructed, any building or other structure, plant any
tree, dig or drill any well, within the limits of said
easements and rights of way.

2. The City of Chula Vista shall not increase or decrease
the ground surface elevations within the boudaries of
the said easements and rights of way existing at the
date of execution of this instrument, without the
previous written consent of San Diego Gas & Electric
Company.

3. San Diego Gas & Electric Company shall have the right to
trim and cut trees, foliage and roots upon and within
said easements and rights of way whenever in their
judgment the same shall be necessary or proper for the
convenient and safe exercise of the rights granted to
San Diego Gas ~ Electric Company.

San Diego Gas & Electric is currently working on
a project to convert a portion of its overhead facilities
in Fourth Avenue between "E" and "F" Streets, in Chula
Vista.
A title search of the proposed route indicates we
will be installing facilities on City-owned property.
Enclosed is a Right-of-Tray Document for this project which
requires your City Council's approval. Also, enclosed are
copies of our Survey Drawing F-1550, which show the loca-
tion of our proposed installation.
The installation-will consist of installing one _ ~-

and retaining wall, as shown, in red, on the attached
drawings.
Please review the attached information, and if
satisfactory, have the Right-of_-way Document signed and
notarized at your earliest opportunity. Once this has
been completed, have it returned to me for recording. I
will provide your office with a copy of the fully
executed document after it has been recorded.
