HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1979/06/26 Item 10CITY OF CHULA VISTA COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT Item No: 10 For meeting of 6/26/79 ITEM TITLE Resolution /d~~o Accepting Public Improvements - Broadway/"L" Street Traffic Signal SUBMITTED BY City Engineer ITEM EXPLANATION (4/5TH'S VOTE REQUIRED YES NO x ) Arrow Electric Company has completed the construction of the traffic signal system (upgrading of old system) at Broadway/"L" Street in accordance with contract documents dated February 13, 1979, and as awarded by Council Resolution 9458, dated January 16, 1979. The contractor was given a time extension due to delay in receipt of the signal poles. He did not complete the project until four days after the end of the time extension and since he has not submitted information which justifies the additional delay, the City is withholding $200 ($50/day) in liquidated damages ir. accordance with the contract. The contractor was assessed $200 in liquidated damages for running four days beyond the contract time to complete the project. Total cost to the City was $28,680.
