Accepting bid and awarding contract for two truck-mounted sewer flushing machines and appropriating additional funds SUBMITTED BY: Director of FinanceoZ`'~ REVIEWED BY: City Manager, (4/5ths Vote: Yes X No Bids were received and opened at 2:00 p.m. on August 29, 1986, in the office of the Purchasing Agent for the purchase of two truck-mounted hydraulic sewer flushing machines. This equipment will be used by the Public Works Sewer Division. RECOMMENDATION: That Council adopt the resolution awarding the contract to Flexible Systems. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION: Bids were advertised and mailed to prospective vendors and three bids were received. The units require 1000 feet of nigh pressure hose to operate the equipment. The cost of the hose was not figured in tl~e budget estimate of $119,360 but was included in the bid specifications. Therefore, the purchase amount for the two units is short almost $2,050. Funds need to be appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the Equipment Replacement Fund in the amount of $2,050 to Account 705-7050-5565.
