SIJNIMARY
The City of Chula Vista solicited written bids from qualified companies to provide asphalt
concrete, aggregate base, ready mix concrete and other materials to Public Works. The bid was
advertised in the Star News on November 29, 2010, and electronically on Planet Bids. Eleven
(11) companies downloaded the information and four (4) submitted bids. Staff recommends that
two bidders, Logans Marketing and California Commercial Asphalt be awarded the contracts.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The Development Services Director has reviewed the proposed activity for compliance with the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and has determined that the activity is not a
"Project" as defined under Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines because the activity
consists of a governmental administrative/fiscal activity which will not result in a physical
impact on the environment. Therefore, pursuant to Section 15060(c)(3) of the State CEQA
Guidelines, the activity is not subject to CEQA. Thus, no environmental review is necessary.
RECOMMENDATION
Council adopt the resolution.

determine which contractor was the lowest bidder. Original bid submittals are available in the
Purchasing Agent's office.
The following table lists the unit price amounts by the low bidder for certain grouped items:
