disposition of houses on "F" Street housing site

On Octob r 19th, the Council approved the transfer of the "F" Street housing site to the
County H using Authority and directed staff to solicit offers for the purchase of the
three si gle-family homes on the site. The solicitation process has been completed, and
a favors le offer has been received. Therefore, it is my
RECOMMEN ATION: That Council adopt the Resolution approving the contract for the dispo-
sition o houses existing on the "F" Street housing site.

DISCUSSImN:
On Octob r 24th, the City advertised in the Chula Vista Star-News, inviting offers to be
made by Baled envelopes by November 3rd. Several parties inspected the houses, and three
offers w re received. They were as follows:
Associated Howe Movers $8,120
• Marquez Structwral Movers 6,500
John Hansen Materials ~ House Moving 3,000
My recom endation, then, is that the offer of Associated House Movers be accepted and that
the atta hed contract be executed with Associated House Movers. The contract stipulates
that Ass ciated House Movers will remove the three houses by December 10th and will cap or
secure t e utilities.
The Coun y Housing Authority'.. is in the process of executing a contract with Associated
House Mo ers for clearing the site as soon as the houses are removed, in order to avoid
hazardou or unsightly conditions on the "F" Street site prior to the construction of the
Public H using project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Revenue f $8,120 realized by this action would return by federal regulation to the City's
Communit Development Block Grant Program as program income. It must be used to repay the
City's S ction 108 Loan which was used to buy the property. This will free up an equal
amount o future Block Grant funds to be used for projects rather than for loan payments.
