Resolution ~f~ ~~proving the Installation of Additional On-
Street Parking Meters Within the Downtown Parking District

At th Parking Place Commission meeting of October 12, 1982, the Commission
voted unanimously to recommend installation of 51 parking meters in various
locat ons within the District now controlled by two-hour parking zone signs.

RECD ENDATION: That the City Council approve the Parking Place
Commi sion's request for additional on-street parking meters.

two negative responses to the proposed installation -- the manager of

llation and they are recommending City Council approval.

Parking meters, which were removed from streets vacated in the Downtown
Redev lopment Focus Area, are available for the recommended installation. It
is a timated that City forces could provide and install meter posts and mark
the arking spaces for approximately X900. The City Engineer and Traffic
Engin er have both conferred with the Commission and concur with the proposed
plan. The additional meters will provide approximately $4,000 additional
reven a annually.
