Meeting Date 8/3/82 TEM TITLI UBMITTEDI Resolution ,~(~ ~~~ Calling and giving notice of the holding of a special election for Tuesday, November 2, 1982 for the purpose of submitting a number of propositions amending the Charter BY: City Clerk (4/5ths Vote: Yes No ) At the Council Conference held July 29, 1982, discussion was held on the wording of the various prop~;sitions to be placed on the ballot. The Council directed staff to bring back a resolution for the August 3, 1982 meeting. The resolution calling the election together with the exact wordings of the propositions must be in the hands of the Board of Supervisors and the Registrar of Voters no later than Friday, August 6, 1982. Alternate 2 An amendment to the Charter of the City of Chula Vista amending Article III, Section 304, providing that the Mayor shall serve in a full time capacity and establishing his annual salary at $18,000. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that, based upon the time reasonably necessary to prepare and print the arguments and sample ballots for said election, the City Clerk has fixed Wednesday, August 18, 1982 as a reasonable date prior to such election after which no arguments for or against said City measures may be submitted to her for printing and distribution to the voters as provided in said Article 4. Arguments shall be submitted to the City Clerk at City Hall, 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, California. Arguments may be changed or with- drawn until and including said date fixed by the City Clerk. FURTHER NOTICE IS GIVEN that the last day to file rebuttal arguments will be Fridav, August 27, 1982.
