HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1982/07/27 Item 11COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT Item 11 Meeting Date 7/27/82 TITLE' Resolution ~~ 9~ o Approving Agreement Between the City of Chula Vista, a Municipal Corporation, and Rohr Industries, Inc., a Delaware Corporation Regarding the Sliplining of Walnut Ave. Sewer Between "G" Street and "J" Street in the City of Chula Vista, California SUB ITTED BY: City Engineer ~/~ (4/5ths Vote: Yes No X ) We are planning to advertise for bids in the next several weeks for the sli lining of the Walnut Avenue sanitary sewer between "G" Street and "J" Str et in the City of Chula Vista, California. The work includes the cleaning and inspection of the deteriorated 18" and. 21" concrete pipe sanitary sewers and the insertion of high-density polyethylene pipeliner into the existing co Crete pipes. Approximately 3,880 lineal feet of sliplining will be in tailed. The construction of this project requires the contractor to go on o Rohr's property in order to slipline the existing sewer. It is my RE OMMENDATION: That the City Council authorize the Mayor to execute the at ached agreement which will permit the City of Chula Vista to enter Rohr's pr perty to perform necessary work to reline the existing concrete sewer. /COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DI CUSSION: Th attached agreement provides for the following: 1. Rohr Industries shall permit the City of Chula Vista and its employees, ag nts, or subcontractors to enter upon its premises to perform the work in co nection with modification of the sanitary sewer pipe previously installed. 2. The City of Chula Vista agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Rohr, its of icers, directors, and employees from any cost, damages, expenses or the 1 ss and liability incurred or paid arising out of, or, on account of any d mage to Rohr's property. 3. In connection with the installation of the sewer, the City of Chula Vista a rees to reimburse Rohr for its cost of additional security personnel r quired as a result of performance to the work related to the modification of t e sanitary sewer pipe (the Contractor is required to pay these costs as part o the contract). Page 2, Item__ll 4. ass Meeting Date 7/27/82 The City of Chula Vista agrees to perform all work in a manner which will ire uninterrupted access to Rohr's facilities over all existing roadways.
