B) Resolution /p93/ Approving Agreement with South Bay Meals on Wheels C) Resolution ~p~3~Approving Agreement with Sweetwater Union High School Restaurant Training Program IITTED BY: Community Development Director (4/5ths Vote: Yes No X ) On May 26, 1982 the City Council accepted a plan whereby Block Grant funds would support the Our House, Meals on Wheels, and Del Rey Nutrition programs for the 1982-83 fiscal year. These programs have been supported by Revenue Sha ing funds. The current contract for supporting these programs expired on Jun 30, 1982, and new contracts must be approved before support can con inue. Therefore, it is my RE MMENDATION: That the Council adopt the three resolutions approving ag ements with the three organizations. DI CUSSION: Th se three programs have been funded by Revenue Sharing for many years, and th applied again to the City for fiscal year 1982-83 funding by revenue sh ring. Staff recommended that they be funded for fiscal year 1982-83 with su plus Block Grant funds from previous program years, and the Council made th necessary appropriation on May 26, 1982. Contracts now should be executed. Th Our House request of $16,800 is $4,800 more than last year, based primarily on the increased cost of rent. The Sweetwater High School Re taurant Training Program, which runs the Del Rey Nutritional Program, has re uested $4,000, an increase of $1,000 due to rising costs. Meals on Wheels is requesting $2,460, an increase of $460 over last year due to inflation. Ex cuted copies of the three agreements are attached. The agreement with Our Ho se specifies that the City will pay for the rent in advance directly to the le sor, and reimburse the organization monthly in arrears for utilities, of ice supplies and monthly telephone expense. The other two organizations ar paid annually, Meals on Wheels at the beginning of the year, and Del Rey Nu rition at the end. Our House is required to submit quarterly financial re orts, while the otner two programs must submit an annual report. FI CAL IMPACT: The total cost of contracts, $23,260, is appropriated in the Fi to and Seventh Year Block Grant Programs. These funds were transferred on Ma 26, 1982 from various completed or deleted projects. AP ~d 1 WP 0039X ~~~~~.
