Recent upreme Court and appellate case law has indicated that it is important for cities
to have a specific listing of the causes for discipline. This change was brought to the
attenti n of the Civil Service Commission, who has studied the City's current rule and

RECOMME DATION: That Council adopt the resolution amending rule section 1.08.

JN: The Civil Service Commission has studied the need for an augmentation of our
