The su 'ect reorganization proposal was approved by LAFCO on March 1, 1982. Pursuant to
the Go ernment Code and LAFCO's resolution, the City Council, at the meeting of April 20,
1982, dopted Resolution No. 10842 initiating reorganization proceedings and setting a
public hearing for May 18, 1982 to consider the proposed "Bonita-Long Canyon Estates
Reorga ization." The proposal involves annexation of approximately 664 acres of land to
the Ci of Chula Vista. The proposal area is shown on Exhibit A of this report.
RECOMMgNDATION: That Council
Adopt ~ resolution approving the Bonita-Long Canyon Estates Reorganization.
DISCUSSIION
1. The proponent is requesting annexation to the City of Chula Vista in order to
obtain omprehensive municipal services for a proposed residential subdivision which
received approval from the City Council on May 26, 1981. The City's public service
depart nts have indicated that municipal services can be provided without an increase
in existing manpower and equipment.
2. The proposal area consists of nine parcels of vacant land under one ownership
and is lso uninhabited. In accordance with LAFCO's resolution and the Government Code,
Council is required to conduct a public hearing for the consideration of this annexation
proposal.

i and County have adopted a Master Property Tax Exchange Agreement which pertains
subject jurisdictional change. As the territory is developed and property tax __ _. _..
is generated, the City will be apportioned its share of said revenue in accordance
provisions of the master agreement.
