It is my COMMENDATION: That Council authorize the transfer and expenditure of funds r purc ase of a diesel pump. BpARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: N/A DaSCUSSION: e diesel fuel pump at the Public Works Yard does not pump at an adequate te. It pumps about 3 to 4 gallons per minute and should be pumping about 17 lions per minute. This causes an undue delay at the fuel island, especially the end of the day when heavy equipment is fueled, resulting in increased rsonnel costs for the City. Additionally, Aztec maintenance personnel are ving to work about 1-1/2 hours overtime fueling their buses which could timately result in increased costs to the City. The work hours lost while iting to fuel will soon offset the cost of replacing the pump. Hence, I am questing authorization to purchase the pump this fiscal year rather than iting until budget time. e diesel fuel pump has been repaired three times this fiscal year at a cost $363.00. The cost to overhaul this pump will equal or exceed cost of a placement pump. A replacement pump was not budgeted this fiscal year cause I believed the present pump would last at least another year. nds are available in the Equipment Maintenance Fuel Account 700-7000-5311 cause the price of gasoline has not increased as much as anticipated. SCAL IMPACT: $1650.00 - Transfer funds from Equipment Maintenance Fuel coun - 00-5311 to Capital Outlay-Other Equipment Account 700-7000-5568.
