DISCUSSION:
Th width of the street and the increase in traffic due to
de elopm ent in the area made it advisable to establish the speed
li it. The 35 mph speed limit was established as a result of the
85 h percentile speed measured on Paseo Del Rey (42 mph) and in
co sideration of adjacent land use (single family dwellings) and
ro d way characteristics (design speed = 35 mph). There have been
no reported accidents due to excessive speed or problems on Paseo
De Rey since the speed limit was posted.
