HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1989-15308 RESOLUTION NO. 15308 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHUhA VISTA APPROVING MONTGOMERY SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT GPA-89-SM The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, this item involves consideration of a proposal to amend the Montgomery Specific Plan by the redesignation of a certain 4.29 acre parcel of land, located on the southerly side of Oxford Street, between Fourth Avenue and the Lauderbach Park and Community Center, from 'Parks and Open Space' and "Special Study Area" to "Low/Medium Density Residential 3 to 6 dwelling units per acre)' on the plan diagram, and WHEREAS, the proposed amendment was initiated by the City, pursuant to City Council instructions of April 4, 1989 which action followed two workshops conducted by the Montgomery Planning Committee, and WHEREAS, the Environmental Review Coordinator has determined that the Negative Declaration IS-89-75M, prepared on May 24, 1989, constitutes adequate prior review of the proposed redesignation, and WHEREAS, the Montgomery Planning Committee considered ~_a-B9-5M at its public hearing of July 19, 1989 and approved GPA-89-5M by a 7-0 vote and recommended that it be adopted by the City Planning Commission and City Council, and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission, at its meeting of August 23, 19~9, by a vote of 5-1, with one Commissioner absent, recommended that the City Council adopt GPA-89-5M. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby find that the adoption of GPA-~9-5M will have no significant environmental impact and adopts the Negative Declaration issued under IS-89-75M. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council Odes hereby approve Montgomery Specific Plan Amendment GPA-89-SM by the redesignation of a certain 4.29 acre parcel of land located on the southerly side of Oxford Street, between Fourth Avenue and the Lauderbach Park and Community Center, from "Parks and Open Space" and "Special Study Area" to "Low/Medium Density Residential (3 to 6 dwelling units per acre) on the plan diagram.
