Through the year changes in classification or compensation can occur. Recently, a change was made in the status of the classification of Purchasing Agent.' Therefore, it is my NDATION: That Council: 1',. Amend Resolution 9637 by adding thereto the classification of Purchasing Agent (UC) Range 38.5 ($1593-$1938), effective 3/1/80. 2. Amend Resolution 9637 by adding thereto the classification of Principal Community Development Specialist, Range 38.9 ($1624-$1976), effective 9/10/79. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable DISCUSSION An Ord~~nance has been before the City Council changing the status of Purchasing Agent from executive management to middle management. The change from executive to middle management was proposed to reflect a change in organization wherein the Purchasing Agent will report to the', Finance Director instead of the Assistant City Manager. The consolidation of Purchasing and Finance will take effect March 1, 1980. The addition of the Principal Community Development Specialist was as a result of a classification study conducted by the Personnel Department in July 1979. This study broke pne position away from the Principal Administrative Analyst classification in recognition of specialized work.
