Renewal of the assessment district for the Fiscal Year 1988-1989 is required. This resolution begins the process of renewal. RECOMMENDATION: That Council adopt the subject resolution ordering the City Engineer's report. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable • DISCUSSION: The Eastlake Maintenance District No. 1 was formed in 1986 to pay the costs of maintaining the landscaping and providing energy for the street lights along various streets in the Eastlake area. According to Article 4, Chapter 1, Part 2, "Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972" being Division 15, Part 2 of the California Streets anal Highways Code, the City Engineer must prepare and file a report to begin the renewal process for the assessment district each year. The City Engineer will prepare his report for Council's consideration and approval and a public hearing will be held at a later date to confirm the assessments.
