DISCUSSION: Prior to receipt of bids, staff had a walk through at the Lauderbach Community Center with prospective bidders. The bidders were asked to include as an alternate the cost of providing a stainless steel countertop instead of formica. Bids for this project were received from two contractors as follows: Added Cost per Bidder Base Bid Walk Thru Bid Amount 1. Kuhler Corporation - San Diego $15,518.75 $ 410 $15,928.75 2. JLH Construction - Chula Vista 14,493.25* 2,925 17,418.25 * JLH Construction's base bid did not include one item noted in the specifications (cabinets on south wall).
