COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT
Item 6
Meeting Date 11/24/87
ITEM TITLE: Resolution ~33.5~ Accepting grant of easement for street
purposes along Industrial Boulevard dedicating said street to
public use and naming said street "I ustrial Boulevard"
SUBMITTED BY: Director of Public WorksG~
REVIEWED BY: City Manager~Q (4/5ths Vote: Yes No X )
On November 5, 1986, the Chula Vista Planning Commission granted a Conditional
Use Permit to Gretler-Gardner Enterprises to establish a recreational vehicle
storage yard on 3.3 acres of land leased to San Diego Gas & Electric Company
within the SDG&E right-of-way at the northerly terminus of Trenton Avenue
between Industrial Boulevard and Walnut Avenue. Among the conditions of
approval of the Conditional Use Permit was the requirement to dedicate a two
(2) foot strip of land fronting the property along Industrial Boulevard.
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council adopt a resolution accepting the subject
dedication.
• BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable.
DISCUSSION:
Industrial Boulevard is designated as a collector street in the City's General
Plan. Current Chula Vista Design Standards call for a right-of-way of 84 feet
for a collector street. The existing right-of-way along the frontage of the
property is 80 feet. To conform with the current standards, among the
conditions of approval of the Conditional Use Permit was the requirement to
dedicate a two (2) foot strip of land fronting the property along Industrial
Boulevard.
The document granting this easement has been executed' by SDG&E and submitted
to the Public Works Department. It has been found satisfactory and is now
ready for acceptance by the City Council.
