HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1987/10/27 Item 10• COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT Item 10 Meeting Date 10/27/87 ITEM TITLE: SUBMITTED BY: REVIEWED BY: Resolution /~~~ Accepting contract work, traffic signal installation at East "H" Street/Auburn Avenue and Orange Avenue/Max Avenue in the City of Chula Vista Director of Public Works ~~ City Manager (4/5ths Vote: Yes No X ) On July 14, 1987, the City Council by Resolution No. 13138 awarded a contract to Perry Electric for the installation of traffic signals at East "H" Street/Auburn Avenue and Orange Avenue/Max Avenue. The work is now completed. RECOMMENDATION: That Council adopt a resolution accepting contract work. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION: • Perry Electric completed the installation of the traffic signals at the East "H" Street/Auburn Avenue and Orange Avenue/Max avenue intersections on October 21, 1987. All work was completed in accordance with the contract plans and specifications and to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. It should be noted that the staff cost for the two traffic signals is estimated to be about $4,000 more than was budgeted in the Capital Improvement Program ($15,500 vs. $11,500). The reason for this difference is that the East "H" Street/Auburn Avenue traffic signal staff allocation did not include funds to cover the City's full cost recovery factor (2.23). To cover the deficit, however, we propose to use the balance of the budgeted construction funds. A complete accounting of the project's funds is shown below.
