HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1987/09/01 Item 7COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT • Item 7 Meeting Date 9/1/87 ITEM TITLE: Resolution,~rZ.Z, Appropriating the sum of $27,025 to pay the estimated cost of the November 3, 1987 Consolidated Municipal Election SUBMITTED BY: City Cler (4/5ths Vote: Yes X No ) A Municipal election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 1987 for City Council Seats 3 and 4. Also on the ballot is Proposition "L" relating to the procedure of public hearing notices for franchises. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution appropriating the amount of $27,025. DISCUSSION: The Policy of the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Diego established some years ago requires each City contracting with the Registrar of Voters for election services to pay the estimated cost of the election 45 days prior to the election. invoice received from the Registrar of Voters estimates the cost of the ection as $41,525 based on 55,000 registered voters. At the time of preparing the budget the Cii estimate over the phone, and therefore, $41,525 requested by this resolution is "estimate" - the City will receive the November 3 election.
